A miraculous connection with God 2
We have all encountered something miraculous in our life that makes us believe it is not just a coincidence. Instead, it is what meant to happen! Maybe where we will go and whom we will meet there are determined millions of years ago before we have even existed! It is so wonderful to experience the miracles, but it is even more awesome and precious when we know the miracles are directly from the God who created us! I just witnessed that from my cousin M and his wife E!
I wanted to write their story when their kid, Kenneth, was
born, but I did not know where to start. Indeed, everything was too ordinary
about how they met each other. However, now I just realized what happened out
of ordinary is the most fascinating miracle! When two people fall in love with
each other deeply without any reason or any sign, that kind of love is just
like as amazing as the shooting star appearing on the dark sky! It just appeared
before anyone can make any sense about it! Maybe it is the purist form of love
that does not require any explanation!
In addition, when M and E started
seeing each other, it was the worst time of M’s life. He has faced tremendous
amount of difficulties in his career. It is so hard for any guy to marry a pretty and gorgeous girl like E in the U.S., but E was willing to
marry him and endure all kinds of hardship with him. She has impressed all of people around her and made us truly believe there is still true love in this world!
Then, because of E’s support and encouragement, M had overcome all of his
obstacles in less than a year and was able to buy a very big house in the
heart of San Jose!
I just started to
dabble in Christianity at that time. I went to some church activities out of curiosity, unlike
E who has been a very devoting Christian. Because I saw how Christian faith has
changed E and everyone around her, I decided to spend more time in reading
bibles and strengthen my faith!
I was really curious why E would chose
my cousin M. She said it was like the God has answered her prayer! At that
time, there were so many guys going for her, but she just felt that M is the
only one for her! She always feels warm whenever M is around. No matter they
are in a good time or bad time, she can always feel safe beside him, and it is
just as wonderful as returning home after a long journey! Or as curling beneath
a warm blanket with sunshine radiating from the window during a very cold day in
winter!
From M’s perspective, he said E is his
one and only guarding angel! She has some kind of magical power to make all of
the troubles disappear! Therefore, he always feels happy and relaxed around
her. When I was discussing with M about the faith healing in the bible, he told
me that the God’s ability to heal our heart is even more miraculous than to
just cure our physical illness. He used to be hurt very much from loss of love,
but after encountering E, he just found that all the bad things in the past has
been suddenly not important to him at all! He even wants to thank all the
people who hurt him and all the bad circumstances that made him unhappy before,
because all these things gave him the chance to meet E!
The love story of M and E always let me
think about Ed Sheen’s song, “Thinking out loud”. There are many metaphors from
the bible in the song, seeming to describe how M and E have been blessed by the
God to have their everlasting love for each other!
Their story also let me know the
miracles from the God are always full of happiness! They are no longer just one-time
good lucks but the blessing that can last forever!
Also, this kind of grace is given away
without reservation! After the God gave M and E this miracle to meet and love
each other, He has kept blessing them in their daily life, including giving
them stable jobs and sufficient salaries to buy a house and build a family! There
is infinite amount of happiness in the love blessed by the God!
However, you might ask this question
like I used to: why doesn’t the God bless everyone?
The god has never been stingy to give
us His blessing. Nevertheless, we focus too much on our thought and rely solely
on our limited experience, so we often cannot see the problems that prevent us
from receiving the God’s blessing. The story of Adam and Eve in the bible is
actually a metaphor to this kind of hubris in our mind. They thought they were
better than the God in making the right choice, but in consequence, they were totally fooled by the snake, and because of them, all human
beings can no longer have connection with the God and receive His blessing.
Therefore, if we want to connect with
the God again, we must throw away our prejudice and pray everyday to humbly ask
for His advice. Gradually we will see His direction and receive His blessing
for us!
